If you can, upgrade the firmware on the switch too (I did that last month and it solved a few printer issues for me also!). Auto Neg can have a detrimental affect to a printer, particularly on older switches. Secondly, assuming it is a wired connection, I'd recommend setting the port on the printer (and the switch and maybe even the server itself) to something other than "Auto Negotiation" - 100Mbps or 1000Mbps / 1Gbps would be fine.
